Obituary of Scott Edward Eveland

Scott Eveland, 64, of Murfreesboro TN, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 24. He was born on November 25, 1956 in Orlando, Florida, to the late Vern and Barbara Eveland. Survivors include his beloved wife, Rita Cregar Eveland, stepchildren Rachel, Anne, Daniel and Alicia, siblings Kelley Eveland McManaman, Sam Eveland, Ted Eveland, Tony Eveland and Barry Eveland and a tribe of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and his beloved faithful companion, Captain Jack the tuxedo cat. He also leaves behind two stepdaughters from his first marriage, Amy and Tara. He was preceded in passing by his first wife, Patricia Hyde Eveland.
Scott received an engineering degree from the University of Central Florida in 1978 and enjoyed a fulfilling career for many years. His happiest days were spent driving his speedboat and relaxing with his family on the lake. Scott loved music, was an amazing karaoke singer, enthusiastic traveler, avid reader, patriot, and a changer of lives.
He leaves a large hole in the world.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at 1:00 PM at Murfreesboro Funeral Home, 145 Innsbrooke Boulevard. Visitation will begin at 11:00 on the day of the service. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Nashville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Foundation for Life or The Salvation Army in memory of Scott Eveland.
