Homer William Brown was born July 1, 1929 in Davidson Co., TN and he passed away on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro at the age of 86. Mr. Brown was the son of the late William Auther and Emma Katherine Arnold Brown. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the US Navy. Mr. Brown was a professor of math and computer science at MTSU and a member of the Franklin Road Baptist Church. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Tammy Kay Henley. Survivors include his wife Ruth Chasteen Brown of Murfreesboro; son, Michael Dale Brown of Murfreesboro; two daughters, Kim Lynette Brinkley and Lisa Marie Brown both of Murfreesboro; brother, Wayne Ambrose Brown of Nashville; sister, Mary Frances Russell of Kingston Springs. 7 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren also survive. Visitation will be Monday, November 16, 2015, 11 am to 1 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 1 PM with Dr. Mike Norris and Mack Thweet officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
