Obituary of Clara McCauley Hamner Conway

Clara McCauley Hamner Conway was born October 1, 1939 in Clarksville, TN and she passed away on Friday, August 28, 2015 in Murfreesboro at the age of 75. Clara was the daughter of Elmer and Marion Hamner and worked for many years in Texas and in Tennessee for Hastings as a Book Manager. Clara was a beautiful person inside and out who was much beloved by her family, friends, co-workers, and health care providers. If you wanted to know something about a book, she was the one to ask. She loved to play Scrabble and spend time with her family, and especially her grandson, Dominick. She was well-known for bringing scratch-made cookies to her co-workers, neighbors, and health care providers. She was well loved and is already sorely missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Conway, her parents, and her brother Gus Henry Hamner. Survivors include her daughter, Sharon E. Conway of The Woodlands, TX, and her four sons: Christopher M. Conway of Paris, France; Patrick W. Conway of Murfreesboro, TN; John E. Conway of Hillsboro, Oregon; and Michael D. Conway of The Woodlands, TX, 1 grandchild, Dominick Conway of The Woodlands, TX, and a brother, Duncan Hamner of Green Cove Spring, Florida. Funeral services will be Tuesday, September 1, 2015, with visitation at 5 pm and service at 6 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Reynolds officiating.
