James R. Russell, age 74, passed away at his residence in Shelbyville Monday, July 10, 2006. He was born in Kingsport, TN but resided in Shelbyville. Mr. Russell was a forman with AG Smith and a member of the House of Prayer in Shelbyville. Mr. Russell is survived by his loving wife, Miriam Russell of Shelbyville, two daughters, Debbie Whitlock (Steve) of Murfreesboro, Vicki Russell Vanderpool (Colin) of Lavergne; son, Mike Russell (Vicki) of Arizona; grandchildren, Josh Whitlock (Kelly), Paul Russell, Lucas Vanderpool, Rachel Vanderpool; great grandchild, Blake Whitlock. Chapel services for Mr. Russell will be Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 10:00 am at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Nerren officiating. Graveside service with full military honors will be Thusday, July 13, 2006 1:00 pm at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery in Nashville, TN with burial to follow. The family requests any donations be made to the House of Prayer, 1900 N. Main Street, Shelbyville, TN 37160. Visitation with the family will be from 4 pm - 8 pm Tuesday, July 11, 2006 and 10 am - 8 pm Wednesday July 12, 2006.
