Obituary of James Edward Bolden

James Edward “Edd” Bolden, age 78 yrs. passed peacefully to be with his Lord and Savior at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital, Friday, December 8, 2017. Born in 1939, Edd received his education from the Rutherford County Schools.

Edd worked when he was young at Crosslin Supply, Eagleville, TN and later he worked 36 yrs. as Grounds Supervisor for Metro Public Schools, and retired in 2001.

Edd was a faithful member of Belle Aire Baptist Church for 30 yrs. He enjoyed going on mission trips and volunteering with Nail Benders, a service group from the church.

He also enjoyed MTSU basketball and was faithful to travel to all games when his health permitted.

Preceded in death by parents Mattie Sanders Bolden and John Henry Bolden, brothers, J.W., Dick, Thomas, Earl, Fred Wiley, and Donald Ray Bolden; sisters, Mary Bucy and Betty Louise Bolden.

 Survived by wife of 57 years Hazel S. Bolden; sons, Michael (Michele) Bolden, Murfreesboro, TN and Quentin (Renee’) Bolden, Rockvale, TN; 3 grandchildren Todd Bolden, Nashville, TN, Alicia (Michael) Villines, Murfreesboro, TN and Jake Bolden, Rockvale, TN, one great-grandson Skyler Villines, sisters Frances (James) Justice and Dorothy (David) Griffey, and devoted pets Tommy, Mills and Snowball.

Visitation with the family will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 pm at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home with interment to follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Unionville, TN.
