Obituary of Thomas Freeland Underwood

Thomas (Tommy) Freeland Underwood, age 65, passed away Monday, October 30th, 2017. 

Tommy is preceded in death by his parents Edgar and Era Lehew Underwood, grandparents Thomas (Sarah) Underwood of Rockvale & James (Bertha) Lehew of Trimble, and great grandparents Matthew (Mary Jane) Underwood of Rockvale, David (Minerva) Hays of Rockvale, John (Martha) Lehew of Trimble, and Frances (Arietta) Crawford.

Tommy is survived by his son Kyle (Katy) Underwood, daughter Kelli Underwood, grandson Case Underwood, brother William (Mary Ann) Underwood, mother of his children Betty Taliaferro, and his companion Carol Barrett. 

Tommy (aka Dog) was a loving father who thoroughly enjoyed fishing, gardening, and trying to make everyone laugh. He worked for the City of Murfreesboro Fire Department for 32 years and was a lifelong resident of Rockvale, TN.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, November 2nd, 2017 from 4-8 pm and Friday, November 3rd 2017 from 11am-1pm.

Funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday, November 3rd, 2017 at Murfreesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services.  Interment to follow at Carlton Cemetery in Rockvale, TN.
