Obituary of Eugene Kennedy

Please share a memory of Eugene to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Eugene "Gene" Kennedy, 70, died Saturday June 24th, 2017. He leaves three children; Joy Kennedy, Kyle Kennedy and Hallie (Kennedy) McNew.  He was born in Newark, NJ and was a resident of Mufreesboro, TN.

Gene was very self- motivated, in the early 1960's, he became the Drum Major of the Blessed Sacrament Golden Knights Drum and Bugle Corp, and ultimately helped lead them to several national championships. They performed throughout the county and in such distinct venues as Carnegie Hall and The Miami Orange Bowl.

In his early 20’s, he served in the Air Force reserves while attending St. Leo's college in Florida.  He later became an Expert Gemotologist and worked for Cartier's in New York City. He worked in sales the remainder of his career and his greatest achievement was writing the Legally Armed publication. The publication simplified and informed handgun citizens with the laws that empower handgun owners.

Gene's legacy includes two beautiful grandchildren Bailey Kennedy and Caroline McNew. His contagious laugh, gift of giving and ability to love his family will be with us even in his absence.
