Obituary of Oneeda Reeves

Oneeda Reeves was born on October 11, 1934 in Carisle, West Virginia. Mrs. Reeves passed away on Thursday, March 30, 2017. She attended school at Toney Creek Grade School, Dothan Elementary, Scarbro Junior High and Oak Hill High School. She enlisted in the Army after High School, stayed two years and went back into the Army Reserves in 1974 for four years. She received her honorable discharge on September 21, 1954. Her rank at that time was Staff-Sergeant. While enlisted in the Army, she went to school in the military and also community college in El Paso to become an operating room technician and Registered EMT. She retired from WBAMC in El Paso in 1984. In 1996 and 1997, Mrs. Reeves studied about the Catholic Faith and became a Catholic and member of St. Rose Catholic Church. In 1998 she went to the Holy Land and to Rome. The trip was very spiritual for her. While in the Holy Land, she laid a cross on a rock that Jesus walked on and felt that is was blessed. It is the cross she always wore around her neck. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Hors d’oeuvres will be served following the service.
