Obituary of James Jernigan
James (Jim) Rudolph Jernigan passed away on January 27, 2017. He was a native of Rutherford County. He was a member of Walter Hill Church of Christ. James was a Cpl. in the United States Army in the Korean War from April 1951- April 1953. He was retired from Roscoe Brown Inc, of 26 years. He served as Boy Scout Leader with Troop 364 for 16 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Louis Eugene and Evie Sue Jernigan; daughters, Nancy Violet Jernigan and Lisa Lane Jernigan, 4 brothers and a sister.
He was survived by his lovely wife of 64 years Nancy Madalyn Jernigan; sons, Jimmy (Vicky) Jernigan of Bradyville, Timothy “TJ” (Jenny) Jernigan of Beech Grove, Kerry Jernigan, Terry Jernigan and Shanelle Golden all of Murfreesboro; 9 grandchildren, Frank Jernigan, Luke Jernigan, Jacqueline Searcy, Tiffany Grandy, Kenny Jernigan, Daniel Jernigan, Jake Jernigan, Brycin Golden, and Brandyn Golden; 8 great grandchildren and a sister: Mary(Jack) Reeves.
Visitation will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 4pm-8pm. Funeral services will be held at Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 11:00am with visitation from 10am – 11am before the service. Bro. Jim Creech will officiate. Burial will follow at New Beech Grove Cemetery.
