TSgt Richard Lee Ping, USAF Ret, age 60, passed away at his home in Murfreesboro, TN September 3, 2016. He was born November 28, 1955 in Washington, IN. Richard spent his life dedicated to enforcing the law. He was a Federal Police Officer for the past 40 years most recently for the Alvin C. York VA Medical Center.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas “Gib” Ping; maternal grandparents, Florence Elizabeth Grannan and Gervase Grannan; paternal grandparents, Russell “Slim” Ping and Jeretta Engle Ping; step-father, Patrick Kelly
He is survived by his wife, Linda Ping; son, William Thomas Ping (Jacque); daughters, Christina Ping and Jenna Ping; six grandchildren, Cameron Clark, Brayden Clark, Colton Ping, Cheyenne Ping, Peyton Ping, and Richard Ping; sister, Patricia Wenzel (Chris); mother, Wanda Sanders; step-mother, Frances Ping; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends for visitation at Murfreesboro Funeral Home, Wednesday, Sept 7, 2016 from 4 – 8 pm and Thursday, Sept 8, 2016 from 11am – 1pm, followed by the funeral service at 1pm.
