Obituary of Rufus E. Smith

Rufus E. Smith, (R.E.), age 72 of Murfreesboro, went home to be with the Lord on August 27, 2016. He was a native of Kossuth, MS. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Charlie Archie and Annie Ruth Smith of Kossuth MS. and In laws, Willie and Louise Cartwright of Corinth, MS. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janet Cartwright Smith, children Lisa Fluty (Mark) of Auburntown, TN., Tina Prosser (Jack) of Smyrna, TN. granddaughter, Jessica Hastings (Tim) of Manchester, TN. grandson, Jeremy England (Brittany) of Murfreesboro TN, great grandchildren, Mason Eugene Hastings and Bella Nicole Hastings of Manchester, aunt Christine Bain, Sister in law Melanie Parker (Dewayne) Brother in law, Harvey Cartwright (Wanda) all of Corinth, MS. He was loved very much and will be greatly missed. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the church building fund at Walter Hill First Baptist Church, 6607 Lebanon Rd. Murfreesboro, TN. 37129. Visitation with the family will be from 9 to 11 on Wednesday, August 31st, and Funeral Services at 11 o’clock at The Murfreesboro Funeral Home on Innsbrooke. Interment will be at Roselawn Memorial Garden following the service. Bro. Shelby Smith will officiate. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Murfreesboro Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
