Obituary of Bertha Lee Smotherman

Bertha Smotherman died peacefully on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at the age of 76. She was born October 4, 1939 and raised in the Longview “Link Community”.
Bertha is preceded in death by her father and mother, Luther and Ottley Smotherman, her husband Thomas Calvin Smotherman, a son, Phillip Wayne Smotherman, a daughter, Carolyn Smotherman, a sister, Betty Bowling, and a brother, James Smotherman.
She is survived by sons, Bud (Robin) Smotherman of Christiana, TN., Jimmy (Carrie) Smotherman of Murfreesboro, TN., daughters Debbie (Tommy) Bain of Bell Buckle, TN and Sharon (David) Samons of Murfreesboro, TN., 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, brother, Freddy Smotherman, sisters, Thelma Smotherman Bryant, Nancy Smotherman Davis and several nieces and nephews.
Bertha loved being a homemaker and enjoyed sitting for the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday, June 13, 2016 from 4pm to 8pm. Services will be Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will follow at Whitworth Cemetery.
